HER Voice Fund – Uganda Country Lead | Y+ Global, with support from the Global Fund and ViiV Healthcare Positive Action | 2022–2025. PEERU served as Uganda Country Lead supporting six local grantees in Kitgum, Kayunga, Bugiri, Kaliro, Kampala and Mbale. The project strengthened meaningful engagement and leadership of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in decision-making, with a focus on HIV, health, wellbeing and rights. PEERU provided coordination, capacity strengthening, technical support, monitoring and advocacy.
WHO/KOICA Adolescent Health Capacity-Building Programme | WHO Uganda and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), in partnership with ACHEST | 2022. PEERU, through partnership with ACHEST & Ministry of Health, supported capacity building of health workers, teachers and students on adolescent health in five Busoga districts—Bugiri, Mayuge, Iganga, Kamuli and Buyende. The assignment aimed to strengthen health systems and improve Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) service delivery, with emphasis on adolescent SRHR. It reached 685 teachers/head teachers, 3,115 students and 187 health workers—3,987 beneficiaries in total, working closely with district health and education departments and Ministry of Health trainers.
Our Lives, Our Rights, Our Future (O3) Programme | UNESCO and Ministry of Education and Sports | 2022-2023. PEERU implemented activities in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports in Mukono, Luwero and Kaliro to strengthen adolescent and youth SRHR, comprehensive sexuality education, gender-responsive education and safer school and community environments. PEERU conducted 30 community dialogues and supported orientation of 30 Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) meetings, reaching 4,322 parents and teachers.
National Stakeholders Dialogue on Adolescent Health | Ministry of Health and development partners | 2018–present. PEERU convenes this national platform bringing together government, civil society, development partners and young people to review evidence, share programme experience and develop recommendations on adolescent-health policy, financing and implementation.
Youth Mentorship Programme | Ministry of Education and Sports and partners | 2018–present. PEERU implements an 11-month leadership and mentorship programme combining residential training, one-to-one mentorship, field assignments, internships and seed funding. The programme has mentored more than 925 young leaders and strengthens youth leadership on health, rights and community development.
